Backwoods has done it again! Our Single Malt Whisky, Chardonnay Cask, has just been awarded the Best Australian Single Malt Whisky Trophy at the 2025 Australian International Spirits Awards (AISA) - one of the most respected spirits competitions in the country. On top of that, we’re proud to share that our small team brought home a total of eight medals across our whisky and gin range.
A Historic Double Win for Our Single Malt Range
This is the second time one of our whiskies has taken out this top honour, with our White Oak Expression winning the same trophy in 2022. The Chardonnay Barrel Single Malt was our first Special Reserve small batch release, matured in beautifully toasted Chardonnay barrels.
